Radio Link

I have the ability to go cable free from the camera; this frees the camera from the sound recordist and gives the camera operator to work independently.

This is great for fly on the wall films, getting in and out of vehicles and working in kitchens.

I record the sound separately to a file based recorder locked to time code, such as the Sound Devices 744T or the Aaton Cantar.

Time code is generated by the camera, in record run mode and transmitted to my file based recorder.

When the time code rolls this sends my recorder into record so is simultaneously recording the sound.

I send two audio tracks via radio link back to camera recorder, this is often used as the master mix but if there is a radio drop out sound can be used from my file based recorder.

Rushes

As the sound is recorded to my file based recorder I usually provide a copy of the sound rushes on DVD, I can also provide Rushes on Compact Flash. There is an extra charge for any rushes supplied.
